Thanks for reading the Stratusfaction 411
Newsletter. This edition we look back at the events of the last year as
we celebrate 5 Years
of Stratusfaction.
What will Trish do Next?
It's been a whole whole year since Wrestlemania 21
and Trish's climbed the ladder off success further in that one year then
she's had in any other. She defied the odds and become the first
Five time WWE Women's Champion, followed by another dazzling win to make
it a record Six times.
Trish has become a spokeswoman for Stackers.
Appearing in a very series commercial that takes the real woman and
highlights her career from Fitness Model to WWE Superstar. She has
graced the pages of Stuff magazine, appeared on the cover of two Raw
magazines,
Oxygen Magazine, Sole
Collector, and most recently,
Urban Male Magazine (UMM).
Where We Left Off...
Last
year one concern everyone had was what Trish would do now. Would the
Era of Stratusfaction come to an end with her alliance with Christian?
Would Trish return to the ring and reclaim her title to become the
most dominant superstar in Women's history? All questions we would
learn the answer to in the months to follow Wrestlemania 20.
After some fanhood scare that Trish would be traded to Raw,
Trish joined
Christian at ringside for their first match together. In this match,
Christian would be facing off with Spike Dudley who proved to be no match
for the pair. During the match Trish would go out of her way to prove
that the bad girl was back and that she was going to do what was good for
Trish and no one else.
Of course Chris Jericho wasn't satisfied with how things
turned out at
Wrestlemania 20 and he wanted some answers. He wanted to know what
happen to the woman that melted his heart and helped him to do the right
thing. This was a question even her fans were wondering. When it
became clear that there was no talking to Trish, Jericho would give her a
label that would hunt her still to this day. After trading some
scornful worlds, Trish fled the ring and the Highlight Reel as Jericho and
the crowd chanted "Slut" at her.
This didn't
end there however. While Christian focused on Jericho, Trish would set
her sights on Lita, rekindling their bitter rivalry. Christian would
turn to The Problem Solver, Tyson Tomko, to protect Trish from Jericho after
a humiliating spanking. And then the three teamed up to brutally assault and
pay Jericho back on the Highlight Reel once again. This assault
however would only add fuel to the fire, escalating things to a cage match
that would change everything.
On Raw, May 10th, Christian and
Jericho would participate in a cage match. In this match Christian
would be injured forcing him to stay at home while Trish and Tomko tried to
deal with Jericho. There first act together would be to put Christian
Jericho through the Announcers Table on Raw, to sideline him just like the
injured Christian.
Believing they'd succeeded, Trish wasted no time in taking
over the
Highlight Reel. Trish shined this night, showing she was a true
comedic superstar by delivery several member able catch phrases such as;
"Kisses!" and one great impression of JR that we're sure Jim Ross will
remind fondly for years to come. However, Jericho wasn't out and wasn't
going to let Trish host his show alone. He came out injured and was
quickly dispatched by the pair.
Now that Jericho was out of the picture, Trish set her
sights once again on the Women's title. She made a promise to Eric
Bischoff that'd
she'd win it again. With Tyson at her side, Trish went to Bad Blood.
There the wicked Diva from Toronto assisted Tyson at ringside during a match
against Jericho. Although the match ended in defeat, the night was not
over. Trish would go on to stunningly defeat Victoria, Gail Kim, and
Lita in a Fatale Four-way match for the Women's title, thus becoming the
first Five time Women's Champion in WWE history.
However,
disaster would strike though. After only one title defense against
Victoria, in an accident, Trish broke her knuckle, seriously disabling her
from any in ring competition. This would not slow her down or
keep her
from tolerating the disrespect of Nidia or Stacy Keibler. This also
does not stop Trish from continuing to tease and humiliate a broken heart
Lita who's caught between two men and a babe. The injured but still
Women's champ would continue escort to the ring to do her will in matches
against the Hurricane and Rosie.
And then
preparations for the wedding from Hell
would begin. As Lita's
self-appointed Maid of Honor, Trish took it upon herself to have a baby
shower for her close and dear friend. Only Lita's enemies would be
invited to this party and all
would take jabs at her for getting pregnant
with Kane's baby. One
the party was over, there was only thing left for Lita and Trish to do, and
that was to walk the aisle and marry Lita off to Kane. And who can
forget the smoking hot white lingerie that Trish would put on, since Lita
wouldn't be doing it herself.
With Trish distracted by Lita, an unnoticed and unexpected
challenger
would rise almost to title contention. With the assistance
or perhaps the guidance of Victoria, Stacy Keibler would achieve several
victories in the ring against Molly and Gail, forcing Trish to get involved
and put a stop to it. After a successful title defense on Raw, live from the
United Kingdoms, Stacy drifted away from the Women's title paving the way
for Lita to make a challenge no that she was no longer pregnant.
This rekindled feud would see them go at each other on
during an shared interview on the Highlight Reel that would end in
pandemonium. They would go on to Survivor Series were Lita would snap
from the combined pressures of Gene Snitski and Trish. Lita would be
disqualified in this match, and break Trish's nosed with a vicious assault
outside the ring.
After weeks of struggle between the two Divas, things would explode on
December 6, 2004. Trish and Lita would main event the evening in
Lita's home town. We would see one of the best matches of the Year
take place, where neither would hold back. Trish would remove her protective
face mask to prove that she was fine and that her beauty was still intact,
perhaps never really breaking her nose.
The feud
did not end there. 2005 has only just begun and Trish has reclaimed her
prize. At New Years Revolution, Trish would retaked her title by
putting Lita would with an ACL injury, sidelining her just like Matt Hardy
was sidelined by Kane.
With no
challengers for her title left, Trish would
set her sights on another woman
on Raw who's created a stir on Raw. Christy Hemme, the 2004 Diva
Search Contest winner was creating quite a sensation for herself.
Trish was the Women's Champion, the greatest Women's Champion, and
she was
not going to let some upstart ass-shaker steal her spotlight. She
would humiliate and attacking Christy Hemme up
until two week ago when Christy made the challenge for Wrestlemania 21.
Trish accepted, but to her surprise, found out that Lita was training
Christy to wrestle. What'll happen when Wrestlemania goes Hollywood? We'll
have to watch and find out.
